Effective Management of Networks Consist of Millions of Devices: Proximetry next R&D project to manage very large networks. The project is subsidized by Polish National Center for Research and Development under INNOTECH programme.
The project aims to conduct research to develop algorithms and protocols for network management systems for heterogeneous wireless networks consist of millions of devices. The main objective of the project is to develop a high performance NMS working on a cluster of servers. For this purpose, an analytical model is being developed and studied to find an optimal AirSync system architecture, and to allow to scale hardware resources to the size and characteristics of the managed network. The project also develops a novel network management protocol that adapts to the transmission conditions and uses multicast to minimize the amount of transmitted data during firmware update.
